Wave Break is my first experimental short film where I explore abstract colors and movements through macro photography.  This new style derived at the beginning of quarantine for me and has been a very pleasant distraction from all the chaos of 2020.  I began this journey blindly with having little experience using a digital camera, color grading photos, and editing film clips.  While I still have a lot to learn, I’m happy with the progress I’ve made so far in each of these avenues.  The film you are about to watch is a compilation of clips I’ve collected over the past few months.  Hours of work has gone into not only the filming, but the experiments, editing, tutorial watching, and collaborating with friends.  The technique used studies the reaction of liquid films as they are exposed to diffused light; which produces very vibrant colors.  When watching these clips, I was reminded of foamy waves breaking against the shore.  Hence the name, “Wave Break”.  This will be the first of many video projects, and I can’t wait to begin the next one!
